Dear American Legions,
My name is Claude Boushey and I am with the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program (VWWP). The purpose of this email is to spread awareness of the program and possibly have a sit down with any one of your post officers to talk about the VWWP.
Combat Veterans of any era, who are a Virginia resident, qualify for the program. The main service that the VWWP is striving for is the peer support groups for combat veterans returning from Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) Afghanistan. Qualified combat veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) would benefit significantly form these peer support groups. This is a very good outlet for a combat veteran, willing to share his/her story, to assist other veterans that are coping with readjustment to every day life.
Region 1 serves the King George, Caroline, Stafford, Madison, Culpeper, Rappahannock, Spotsylvania, and Fauquier counties and the city of Fredericksburg. Attached are the VWWP brochures.
