Service Officer

 

The Post Service Officer duties include aid in filing claims, securing hospitalization, visiting ailing comrades, maintaining contact with any member of the armed forces from the community served by the post. Responsible for bringing to the attention of all veterans and their dependents the rights and benefits granted to them by law.

The Service officer is the point of contact for filing Temporary Financial Aid requests for military families with children in the home. In addition, Service officers will help to fill out requests to see if the veteran qualifies for aid. They will also provide the veteran with other contacts in their community that are another source of aid.
